Gemma Collins reveals how she lost a stone in a week ahead of her lavish weddings

Former TOWIE star Gemma Collins has embarked on a health and fitness journey ahead of her nuptials and shared details on how she lost a whopping 13.8 pounds in just seven days

Reality star Gemma Collins was “reduced to tears” when she got on the scales after one week of her new health regime, which doesn’t involve any vigorous exercise.

Like many brides-to be, former The Only Way is Essex’s Gemma Collins wants to feel and look her best for her big days – because in typical GC style, she’s having three weddings. She’s only recently engaged to her long term love, businessman Rami Hawash, but she’s already totally focused on getting fit and healthy and it’s really working.

Gemma, 43, has enlisted the help of bodybuilder Eddie Abbew and his daughter Selina, who describes herself as a ‘Fat Adapting chef’. Together they have put together a fitness programme and diet that Gemma loves and which is keeping her satisfied.

After just one week of adapting to her new regime, she had lost just under a stone – a milestone she shared with her 2 million Instagram followers in February. “I’m in shock, I came to see Eddie a week ago and I’ve just got back on the scales and I’ve dropped 13.8 pounds, nearly a stone. Just under a stone in a week. I was reduced to tears, I looked at you [Eddie] and was like, ‘sorry, is that right?’ No vigorous exercise, no training for 8 hours a day.”

Eddie asked her: “Were you ever hungry?” “No!”, Gemma replied. “I’m sharp as a knife. I’m raring to go. I’ve never done any sort of plan where I’ve eaten real food, I’ve eaten nuts, I’ve eaten feta, eggs, meat, and avocado. It’s bizarre. I just cannot wait, bring on week two.”

Trainer Eddie has cut out sugar from her meals and is instead focusing on a high protein diet with whole foods and fewer carbs. He has also reduced her meal frequencies and cut down on overly processed foods.

In another update with her fans after her initial weight loss, she was seen shopping for food and said: “I am determined not to let anything stop me after just losing under a stone. So I’m shopping now with Selina and Eddie and we’re going to load up the shopping so I stay on track for this week, let’s go.”

Gemma was seen packing the trolley with nuts, salad, and various meat and vegetables. The TV star admitted she “can’t believe” she can eat it all and still lose weight. Selina, added: “At the moment we are staying away from fruit because we don’t want to raise her insulin.”

Gemma is understandably thrilled with the results so far but doesn’t want to lose too much weight. Speaking to the Mirror and
OK! magazine from her Chelmsford home, she said: “The thing is I don’t want to be stick thin, I just want to be healthy. I’ve got so much to look forward to and I want to feel amazing.”

Rami stunned Gemma when he proposed during a holiday to the Maldives earlier this year. The happy couple are planning three different celebrations, one somewhere “fabulous in the UK”, one abroad and a formal one for friends and family. They probably won’t take place until 2026 because Rami turns 50 then and an astrologer told Gemma it’s the luckiest to get hitched.

Until then, Gemma plans to continue with her new lifestyle and she’s now lost an incredible 20 pounds, which she showed off in a glamorous wedding inspired photoshoot with OK!
